This is one of the nicest, truest things I've ever read. Beautiful!Happy Mother's Day to you and all you great women out there!
We had lousy weather until it finally broke on Saturday afternoon and for the remainder of the weekend, but now that Sunday is drawing to an end the skies are beginning to change again because we have more bad weather in the forecast. Hope you enjoyed this Mother's Day!
Oh, that was beautiful, Angie!
It's like you put your knitting arms, hands, and fingers on automatic pilot!
Then they'll call back! What if you weren't home? You wouldn't have been able to answer the call, so the caller has no way of knowing if you were even there. If it really is that urgent and no one else can be reached or will do, then the caller will try again!
Gee, I love them all! Isn't that little child the cutest little thing? And that painted etched aluminum thunderbird is stunning. What a fine collection you have!
Great news! I just learned that my mom is in the middle of knitting me some fingerless gloves. (She's using your pattern, of course!) I love the pics, by the way, and that sweater is really great. I'm thinking, though, that I might like a bucket of balls...I have all kinds of decorative ideas going around in my head. Because Edie loves baseball so much, I'm thinking baseball-looking balls. I love Christmas so much, I'm thinking ornament-looking balls. Oh, I can just go on and on!
Very interesting. I like when a person has both dependent and independent qualities, which it says you have.
I am still amazed at how much knitting you do. As much as you love to do it, I'm glad you take some breaks. The going out to dinner break sounds nice. Enjoy!
Oh, no, I'm not blushing! I loved it and I'm really laughing!
Wow, that's serious reading stuff. I'm sure, though, that you will read with earnest and learn some interesting things. I still feel bad about your trip plans having to be canceled, but I have a feeling you will plan another trip in the future. In the meantime, enjoy your reading and take care.
Your son cooked the meal? That is so nice! He does sound like a really good kid and you should be proud. And, your daughter, not letting those "things" keep her from loving life and pursuing it in a positive, but responsible manner. You should be proud of her, too. You're a good mom, they really love you, and it is so clear how much you love them.
I am not here to debate because you already know my strong opinions against abuse and abusers. I can not emphasize just how strongly I am against abuse so, again, this comment is NOT to be taken as an exception to my beliefs. What I want to say is that I believe there is a difference between "true" corporal punishment (which is abusive) and an effective display of discipline, protection, and interruption/stoppage. A child does not know the meaning of "hot" (to be equal to "hurt")if hot has never been felt, but if I saw a young child continuously reaching for the burner or matches after all sorts of other measures were tried, I'd slap a hand to make the child pull the hand back and to associate a burner or matches with pain. Slaps can stun, start breathing, be an effective element of surprise, deterrent for a greater injury, stop hysterics, etc., but it is so very important to understand that such slaps are not delivered out of anger, not as a form of punishment, not to bully or intimidate, etc.
I can see why you said "a mellow day".
Now you know why so many front-line, visible workers can't even add or take an order correctly! It's the eye-candy that's important!
