Credit Card at Gas Pump !

I have not verified this, but clearing the transaction makes sense.

A co-worker used her credit/debit card to purchase gas at the pump (like most of us do). She received her receipt like normal. However, when she checked her statement, there were 2 $50 charges added in addition to her purchase. Upon investigation, she found out that because she did not press the 'clear' button on the pump, the employee inside the store was able to use her card to purchase his/her own gas! To keep this from happening, after you get your receipt, you must press the 'CLEAR' button or your information will be stored until the next customer inserts their card. Be sure to tell all your friends/family so that this doesn't happen to them!

I hope this isn't true but just in case,I wanted to warn
everyone. XOXO dogsalot

Wow! Thanks for the tip! I'm always paranoid about my credit cards ever since I was the victim of credit card fraud a few years ago when somebody in San Diego got my number and charged over $5000 of airline tickets on it! (I've never been to San Diego in my life! Scary, huh?)

Desperate times often bring the worst out in some people, it a shame that honest people often pay the price for others dishonesty and weakness in chracter

PS, I always check the profile to see how old people are - you are the second one claiming to be 100 years old. I don't believe everything I read, but I did have a friend over 100 - he died at 1001/2 - not to worry you.

In Oregon it is illegal to pump your own gas so we are at their mercy - so far no problem though

I'll double check on this one. Hey, I didn't know we were fellow Floridians! Cool! My parents retired to Ft. Lauderdale many years ago and my brother lived in Plantation for years till a couple of years ago, he moved to Ocala.

We don't got one o' them thar new fangled gas pumps at our station. Mr I-don't-like-you-giving-out-our-credit-card-number-when-you-buy-stuff-on-the-internet just lets the station's cashier hold his credit card while he goes out to pump his gas.
