A Journey Into My Life

Turkey is Almost Done

Well, the Turkey is almost done! I got up early (for me), and started cooking it.

Getting a head start on this "Holiday" thing. I know it's like a day early.. but since I am celebrating it by myself, I didn't think it really mattered... lol.

The only thing is.. the Turkey popup is missing, and we don't have a thermometer. Also the "weight" tag on the turkey is missing, so I have no real way to tell how long to cook it.

It said "Stuffed" 22-24 lbs cook for 5 1/2 hours. I am guessing that's about right. But I plan on cooking it longer just to be safe. I hope it don't get too dry. I'm the type that will eat raw hamburger.. but turkey, chicken, and pork is a whole different story.

We bought all these "containers", so my plan is.. I am making my own TV dinners. Lots of them. We'll just put them in the basement freezer. They will have potatoes, stuffing, turkey, and some veggies.

The kids are all gone now, Roxi is on her way up north. I'm here alone. Don't worry about me though.. I got lots of beer.. and I got my computer. I will survive.

The plan is basically to get some cutting done. No kids.. no distractions.. I can get alot done I think.

Ok.. gotta go. I need to make "gravy" and some other things.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING Everyone!! gary :)

I'm really impressed that you are cooking a turkey when you're all alone, Gary! Why didn't you go visiting with Roxi?

I hope you have a relaxing and productive holiday.
