A Journey Into My Life

My First Tatoo

No, I haven't got my first "tatoo" yet. You'd think a person like me who knows so many "Tattoo" artists, and "Bikers" would be covered with them. Mainly, the main reason I haven't got one, is when I am at an event. I am an artist too. I am at my booth busy, they are at theirs busy. So I have no time to get one. Plus we all "travel" to these shows. So to just go over and get one from someone you "trust" (to do good work) is more difficult. We travel all the time, who wants to do that when not at work.

However, I've already became great friends with this new "tatoo artist" couple. We did one show together, will to many more. They live about an "hour away". I see no problem going up there to get one. They said, we'll have some beers.. barbecue,, whatever. Just make it a "FUN" day when we needed work done.

I've worked a deal with them. If say the tattoo was a $100 tat, I'll give them $200 worth of my stuff to sell at shows I am not in. The thing is, I am SUPER FAST at what I do! I can actually knock out a $10 coin in 5-10 minutes. Tats take way longer. To them, it's "art for art". They will get $200 of inventory, for some tat they'd charge $100 for. Me, I can cut whatever they want, and will take less then 2 hours. I'm all cool with that, and they are too. They know my stuff is good, and sells. I doubled their sales this weekend.

He is a VERY good artist. I mean, him and his wife are "covered" with tats. I mostly looked at her body, because most of his he got in Prison. He did like 12 years in the joint. Her tats are ALL his work. So I look at that. I looked at the earlier ones, and the ones now (he has done them 16 years now). He's good enough, that I want one from him.

Ok, well I decided what I want, but I need to find a "good picture" first. Tatoo Artists need that. What I am looking for, is a "SMOOKING HOT BITCH", on a CHOPPER. I don't want her naked, but I want a HOT body, and Perky Nipples. Ya know, those tits that point to heaven, not to earth.. lol. I want it on my back. Where I can "hide it" for conservative shows, and show it at Biker shows.

My only worry is, "How good is he at faces"? I haven't seen one of those in any of his books. I want it to look "right". Being an artist, I know this is the hardest thing to do. He "assures me", he is great at that. I'm gonna trust him. He hasn't lied yet as far as I know.

So sometime this summer, both Roxi and I will be getting "tatoos". We'll post the pictures. We just need to find the time to get them. Plus we may have to go back a few times to get them finished. I'm sure if we go visit, we'll have a cookout, barbecue and whatever (spend the day). I'll push him to get as much done as possible. Yet, not PUSH him, because you really can't push an artist.. or you get shitty work. Just push him in a way, that he spends considerable time working.
----------------------
As far as the show today. We did fairly decent (But not super great). They didn't sell much. They won't allow him to do tats there, or piercings. He could only sell "body jewelery". He didn't have the "enclosed" area the city required. But he did get alot of people, that are gonna get from him later. So that was more "advertisement" then anything. For the quality of work he does, he is the "cheapest" around. He tells everyone that. I know tatoo artists from all over the USA, and what he is saying is true.
-----------------------
I can't post the "Bike, and Car" pics now. They are on Roxann's camera. Since we woke at like 5am, she is crashed on the couch. Me, I got a pint of Rum. Kinda has a way of waking me up. I really didn't get to see much of the "Bike" show, as they were on the far end. Lots of Bikers were there though. The cars were right in front of me. 10 feet from my booth really (I mean the show area). The radio station KCQ, was just down a few spots broadcasting. Lots of cool cars though. I don't know what Roxann took pictures of. I was cutting coins all day mostly. If they (pictures) look good, I'll post them. If not.. I may skip it this time. We will be doing shows every weekend. This was a busy festival, but not like a "super cool one" (compared to others we will do). In two weeks, we will do KCQ. It's sponsored my the radio station that was by us here today. But this is one of the biggest events in Michigan. It's on an Island, 80,000 people have to walk (a small bridge) to get on it (plus park a mile away). (Ha Ha you walkers, vendors are the only ones allowed to have cars on it.. lol). Many top country singers play there, on two stages and our booth will be in the middle. We will make sure we get LOTS of pics of that to post.

Ok, take care peeps... I guess I'mm off to "surf" the net..
Gary :)
