Steal This Movie

I am watching a movie called: "Steal this movie" (almost over). I took a break cause had to pee. Decided to blog.

It's a movie about "Abbie Hoffman". If you haven't heard of him, read up on the dude. To me he was a "hero", to most "Republicans" he was an "Ass". Pretty much depends on how many times you "fell off the swingset" who you believe. I promise you.. I never fell off a "swingset" once! I think what "Abbie Hoffman" did was great.

In the late 60's, there was alot of turmoil in this country. We had "Vietnam war", we had alot going.

Now this is what I respect about "Abbie Hoffman".. He said what he felt, he protested what he felt was wrong, he did all in a "non-violent way". He said what he felt, no matter what the result for himself might be.

The Rupublican administration (at that time), went on a witch hunt! They had the "real power",, they did everything they could do to supress him. And they eventually did.. but he was still a fighter.

Nixon.. Hoover.. Liddy.. Johnson.., all those Republicans in that era were "Criminals"! They used "POWER" to knock out whatever they dis-liked. Kinda reminds me of the "BUSH's" matter of fact.. lol. yes "Hoffman" fought... but he did it with "WORDS".. He didn't pull the "muscle" out.. he made protests. he wasn't killing people.. he was trying to sabve them.

Anyway, it's a good movie to watch. Might teach ya a tad about "History" (if you don't know).. and no, alot of what I said isn't in it... It's me adding my "slant" to what I know is true.. As a movie however, I haven't seen anything that isn't historical fact.

Gary :)

I remember Hoffman. Johnson, most Democrats were wary of him, was not that bad a president and he was more progressive on civil rights than anyone suspected he would be. Read Doris Kearns' bio.

Technically Lynden Johnson was a Democrat. He was Kennedy's VP before he became el presidente.
