Could You Help Me Please?

Folks,
I am wondering if anyone knows any organization that might help out with funeral expenses?  I have a friend that lives in another state and one of her close friends there has a nephew that was murdered. He was working during the summer to save $$ before he started his senior year of high school.  I am cking the Internet but am not having much luck.
Thanks so much guys.

How sad that she has to worry about the expense at a time like this. What a tragedy. A local funeral home may be willing to lower it's price or have a special fund available to help out in these situations. If she can get an article in a local newspaper, and have someone set up a fund in a bank for donations, she might get a lot of help that way. It worked for a family whose kids attended my school.

Start at the state level. Check into the local funeral homes, too. How very sad.

Does dad has any ties with the Veterans .
They can help if he served in the armed forces.

I know that cremation is not overly expensive. So sad.

All I can come up with is that, in some states, there is a victim compensation fund available but, even if your state has such a fund, it may not be possible to access it fast enough for funeral costs. Check under 'victim compensation' on your state website.

Wow ... that is so sad! I do not know of such a place, though.

I'm trying to save money for my mother's eventuality, but as soon as I got a bit in the bank the IRS took it. I'm talking with my sis and brother about the fact that she is 90 now.

Gosh Cindy, I wish I knew what to tell you. I am so sorry.

This may not be an option if the person has been deceased for too long, but it's something we all can consider--donating our, or our loved-one's remains to science. The remains are cremated, and returned to the family at no cost.
