Thanks for asking about my stepmom. She is managing pretty well in her assisted living apartment/senior care community. She has adjusted, is accepting of the support she so clearly needs, and resolved to make the best of it. Without the stress and worry of trying to manage everything, her cognitive issues and moods are better. Her cardiac health is still very dicey, but she is tolerating all her meds and things are stable for now. She is comfortable and interacting socially with her neighbors. All good signs. Thankfully, her eldest son/my stepbrother is handling all her affairs as the go-to-guy, and that is a huge relief. As you know so well, it is such a trial and a very difficult time. I do so hope that things will stabilize for your Mom and that she will manage okay when she returns home. Please keep in touch as you can. We all want to be supportive of you.
