Taking His Medicine

The squirrels don't seem to mind taking their medicine. I had to spread peanut butter on a cracker, then break that up and put the medicine on one chunk. This little guy chowed the whole cracker in one sitting.

I decided not to use peanuts after John's comment about them getting buried. I did toss some peanuts out - they took them, but I don't know where they ended up. Hence, the "gourmet" method of peanut butter on crackers.

It seems to be helping as you can see here - he's got some dark stubble covering up the pink skin that was visible in the earlier photo.

Here is his "before" photo.

I haven't gotten an "after" photo of the balder one, but she is looking a bit better too.

I put some Ivermectin on them. That's the med my vet put up for me and it kills the parasite that causes the mange. Never thought of peanut butter for skin - maybe a moisturizer? Sure would smell good!

My big cat, Chewy, is shedding a lot and it isn't the season for it and I am wondering if we need to take him to the vet. What is the medicine you are using. He isn't showing skin yet but we are concerned. You're great to take care of the squirrels.

It's called ivermectin but it might not be used for cats. Check with the vet. I hope he feels better soon!

This is great! Now let's hope they don't cross the road.

I don't think they will - there's a large wooded area behind the house - many acres with a creek and so on.

You're terrible.
