My 19 year old grandson is setting up a sound system in his room. He has a couple of friends over to help him. Big speakers, not just tweeters and woofers, like we used to have. These have other names I don't recognize. Pictures are vibrating against the walls in the living room. Boom, boom, boom.

Teen age mantra: bigger, better, louder, badder! Time to pull out the ear plugs. Sometimes, getting deafer with age is an advantage.

Some of them rig up that kind of boom-boom speaker arrangement in their cars - at least they can drive the noise away somewhere.

My son had one little snare drum that he barely looked at. We were lucky. Daughter played viola for three months and clarinet for three months and piano for a year. Lots of Twinkle, twinkle, little star practice.
