Snow

We had some snow this week, about 6 inches. Nothing like our friends out east, though. Be careful digging out. The day after we dug out our heavy, wet snow, the temp dropped and everything froze. We are now being treated to the most beautiful winter my friends and I can remember. I drove through the woods to a friend's house on Friday night. The trees are covered with blobs of snow. The rooftops and ground are covered. It takes one's breath away, it is so gorgeous. Truly a winter wonderland. It makes me want to be an artist. All white and gray and a tiny bit of blue sky. I would call it 50 shades of gray, if that title weren't taken. Today it is starting to rain and the temp will be in the 40s. Soon there will be nothing but slush, but for a few days, Wow!

It was 86 degrees today--a record BUT we will have a high of only 64 degrees this weekend--for us THAT IS WINTER!

We went from 53 to 20 in one day. Lots of snow this past week and more coming this week. We need snow to get us out of the drought we have been having for a couple of years. I enjoy snow once the roads are plowed and the sidewalks and driveways are shoveled. There is nothing like a wet, heavy snow for building snowmen or forts.

To start with, snow is white and cold. Picture everything covered in white, bushes, grass, trees and branches, ground, sidewalks, roofs, everything. Then picture moving all this snow out of the way with a big shovel or with a snowblower.

We have 4 seasons too but winters are far from drastic as other places!

We'll be getting the 79 and sun in a couple of months. I love having four seasons. Even love our Chicago winters.
