Romney Taxes

Mitt Romney has released information that his last taxes were in the 15% bracket. This is because most of his taxable income comes from capital gains which are taxed at that lower rate. He said his regular earnings come from giving speeches for which he earned a small amount. This small amount was over $370,000. I am not begrudging him getting paid so much for speeches. It is that he considers this a small amount. It would take me years and years to earn this "small amount". What world do these guys live in? Not my world.

Anyone who can use the word gratis deserves to be paid. How much snow did you get this time, Randy? We got 6 1/2 inches of fluffy stuff.

The trouble with trickle down economics is that it never trickles down.

I was just reading about the various tax structures proposed by the GOP candidates. One of them was going to save the average multi-millionaire taxpayer $442,000 a year, and $2,200 for the $10,000 - $50,000 earner.

Former president Bill Clinton enjoyed his most lucrative year ever on the speaking circuit in 2010, capping a decade of paid speaking events that has earned him $75.6 million since leaving office in 2001, according to a CNN analysis of federal financial records.

It has to be put in perspective--that is a 'small' amount when you are making millions and no millionaire (most politicians--especially those running for POTUS--are millionaires) are in our world.
