A Few Random Thoughts.

According to TV Guide,Downton Abbey is two hours long tonight. I love those period pieces. I read that it is filmed at a real place. The owners rented it out to get upkeep money. Andrew Lloyd Weber lives next door and wants to buy the family out. They don't want to sell but it costs a fortune to keep up a house with 130 rooms. They would like to sell a few acres for development but the villages don't want that. They consider the acreage to be their own park.

It is on the same time as the Grammies, which will be on for three hours. That is a long time and a lot of awards. I am sure there will be a tribute to Whitney Houston.

Isn't that sad about her dying? She was forty-eight years old. She had everything going for her until the drug use started. So sad.

I am feeling sad too about Don Cornelius committing suicide last week. I used to watch Soul Train once in a while when it first started in Chicago.

the sense of entitlement that famous people seem to have often leads to tragedy.

I tried to watch Downton Abbey, but it's like starting in the middle of a book. I watched two docs. on LINKtv. channel. No Grammys.

This is the second season so you are correct, sir, it is like starting in the middle of a book.

I am behind on the current episodes of Downton Abbey but need to catch up. I

I think there is one more this season. Lots happened this week on the two hour episode.

I am really surprised Whitney lasted so long--she was really abusing herself with the drugs--sad.

Very sad for her daughter and mother.

Yes, sad news in both cases. Bobby Brown and Whitney, however bad for each other they might have been, certainly seemed to have had something strong. His breaking down onstage is not a forgetful, change-my-personal-channel Ashton Kutcher reaction.

Lots of celebrity bad news lately. I forgot about Demi Moore and Etta James.

I love Maggie Smith in Downton Abbey.

Yes I do remember that movie. One of these months I'm going to have a Maggie Smith Filmfest here at home with the help of Netflix.

I love her too. I keep remembering her in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. Do you remember that movie a long, long time ago?
