Saying Goodbye ...

Today was the memorial service for my friend Johnny. I hate these things with a passion. I guess I really hate good byes. His body laying there brought it all home though. It wasn’t all a bad dream and my friend was really gone. There was laughter and happy reminiscing before the service started, tears and somber recollections followed throughout the service. Thoughts of numerous services of friends and family I’ve attended swirled through my head, filling me with feelings of loss and longing.

I learned that Johnny was an organ donor and his sister said the harvesters told her that twenty one people were awaiting his donations. That’s pretty nice to help others one last time as you leave this Earthly realm. That was Johnny though. Always ready to help others any way he could.

Good night and good bye Johnny, enjoy some peace and serenity. You deserve it.

Good night to everyone else and may you enjoy a blessed 4th of July celebration tomorrow.

it always hurts when you lose friends and relations ---I always think of the good times we had together --it doesn't take away the feeling of loss , but it helps

Definitely a hard thing to do, saying goodbye like that. I've got one of mine in the hospice right now, soon to leave us, and the hard thing is it might have been preventable.

So sorry to hear that troutbend. It's never an easy thing, but your situation sounds even tougher. My heart goes out to you and yours having to deal with this along with lots of prayers for y'all during this difficult time.
