Big hugs to you, Cat. My grandfather was diagnosed with the Big A about a month before he was diagnosed with the Big C. Ir was devastating for the rest of us to watch. His sister (my great aunt) has been struggling with the Big A for a couple of years now. She's legally blind, lives alone, and refuses to allow anything more that a short daily visit from a caregiver who checks her vitals. It's a quite dangerous and sad situation. God bless you and your mom. Here's another big hug.
Of course, I am somewhat biased in this area, but I continue to be appalled that adults will not only enable, but encourage and participate in such behavior. Three years? Please. She will probably spend those three years thinking that she's being treated unjustly and blaming her victim. The number of sociopaths that are running loose in our society is nothing short of scary. Sorry to grab a soapbox on your blog, but I just could't help myself. I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Lovely conversation! Thanks for including us!
I can't imagine the anguish her parents are going through.
My husband has that 10 minute routine down, too. I don't see how they do it. It takes me a minimum of 30 minutes each morning to shower, dry my hair, dress, and throw on some makeup. I have a routine, too, and if anything gets out of sync, it completely throws me off.
Wow. Lovely post, Chris.
Happy Birthday to you!
I love Paula Deen, too. However, I have a real problem with these celebrity cooks who use mixes. I don't care for them, either, and if I'm going to take in a ton of calories and fat grams, I want them to be from the real thing.
Better than fast food? If it's not fast food, then just what is it? Ugh.
Because I work among so many cootie-infested kids, I've been told for years that I should get the annual flu shot. I never have. I just wash my hands frequently, and go on with life. Knock on wood--it's worked thus far.
I feel your pain, sister! Even though I've been spoiled by a dishwasher for a long time, whenever I pull out an iron skillet, a little voice says to me, "You know you're gonna have to wash that by hand, don't you?" It makes me cringe.
Thanks for posting this piece!
Holy cow! Your talents are amazing! I wouldn't know where to start on such a project.
Oh, Cat! So sorry to hear that you're going through this with your mom. Feel the big hug I'm sending you.
