All we wanted was Double Bubble gum which was very expensive--8 cents each!!! My dad got them on the blackmarket for us!!
It's funny thing about memories--the older you get the worst ones, the ones that hurt, the sad ones, the bad ones, the painful ones, etc., are either forgotten or don't seem as that bad as time passes--we may not forget them but we tend to remember the better ones more often!!
Hot, very humid along with every day afternoon very heavy rains for an hour--welcome to August in Fort Lauderdale--I LOVE it!
You want the poor little baby to go hungry???? Seriously isn't there a way to supply them with enough food that they don't have to invade cars, homes?? How about if each member of the community donates some sort of food and it is put in piles where bears are known to 'hunt' for food? Okay, granted I am a city boy but has something like that ever been tried? If yes what happened?
There is a Cuban restaurant that has a whole pig roast every once in a while--it is a lot of fun and the food is fantastic!
No, I taped the black ones (the underneath ones) to the wall and the wine-colored ones cover the tape--no light gets through!
Antartica has its problems also so-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o
In the 1950s/60s I lived in Miami Beach and--before Castro--my partner and I would go to visit his parents--they lived/owned a cigar plantation 2 miles outside of Havana--for a couple of days each month--the city was 'crazy fun' in those days. I see pictures today of places we use to go to and the buildings are crumbling! PS Castro took their plantation and the parents had to be 'smuggled' to Miami Beach via Mexico.
Did you ever pay it completely??
Is that what they call it 'Down Under"??
4 AM!! MY time of day!
You don't want to hear what I was doing in 1953!!!
