On a lighter moment another memory FROM ABOUT 1953
-----------------------SNOWY
Mrs Mc Dermott was a customer at the butcher shop where I was working she was about 50 years of age , married with no children but had a poodle called Snowy that she treated like a child, when shopping she tied Snowy to the verandah post just outside .
On this particular day the local council was resurfacing the road, she arrived and as usual she tied snowy up and came inside, no sooner had she had done so when I saw two young boys come up and throw tar over Snowy and run off.
With a scream Mrs Mc rushed out to Snowy crying her eyes out , suddenly she collapsed shaking uncontrollably, my boss went out immediately to her aid as he knew she was an epileptic as she had a fit in the shop once before and knew what to do , not long after she came out of it okay , and was brought back inside the shop to rest, this time with Snowy , a neighbour arrived just about then and helped her home .
