Bush Mechanic
According to Coogie who always handles the truth carelessly this is true
I was delivering the mail he said and my old Dodge engine started vibrating and misfiring, seemed to be running on 3 cylinders, stopping the engine I got out to check it out, all the spark plugs were okay but had no compression at all on the 2nd cylinder.
Those old side valve engines were easy to repair , so I got the tools out and removed the head, the trouble was a broken piston , so I then dropped the sump ,undone the conrod , took the piston out , done some repairs and got going again.
How did you repair the piston he was asked , I didn't Coogie replied I found a mulga tree bough the same size as the piston , cut it to length, drilled the pin hole and with a bit of carving attached it to the conrod .
