Grace does back to school tomorrow. How cool is that?
She's been a real pistol lately. She possesses this talent for morphing into whomever she spends time with. The other night at the dinner table she came off with a "My bad," which stopped me in my tracks. That would be from the Twinkie-by-proxy daughter from next door.
Her girly girl shit comes up when she's been hanging out with the 12 yr old from down the street. And with that girly girl shit also comes talk of "boy germs" and "ewww, he's a boy." Don't get me wrong, I am sure that in a few years I will be overjoyed when she comes off with a "boy germs" comment, but for now it rakes at me.
Mom and I got into a bit of a verbal tiff *noticing that none of your jaws dropped on that one*. I told Grace she could not have a brownie because I can't stand her when she's all pumped up on sugar. Okay, I didn't tell her I couldn't stand her, that was just an explanation in writing. Mom still took it upon herself to walk into the kitchen and come out with a big ole hunk of brownie. So she was told that Grace will be spending the afternoon with her, and I mean it.
They left for the store a little while ago. Grace was being a PITA and mom was rolling her eyes. "Oh, let that baby have a brownie," I said to her. "Suffer, wench" is what I wanted to say to her.
Da Man and I had a long talk about the whole Family Readiness Group thing last night. He finally came out and told me that he would really like it if I would be a part of getting one up and running because he's never had anyone in his life that ever gave a damn before. I was up a lot later than he, because of his early morning drill, and I realized that maybe, just maybe, if you want something that you ought to give something in return. So I imagine I will one day be a part, an integral part, of the FRG for his unit. But that's way past tomorrow so I'm not sweating it today.
Mak is napping. She's so beautiful when she is napping. Ha. I am actually excited about Grace going to school because of Mak. She doesn't get a lot of my undivided attention, and I'm hoping that we will get to hang out and BE with each other while Grace is in school. I still have two years before I can send her. Pray for me. *snort*
Well, the girls are home from the store and I am heading out to mow the grass while there's someone here to keep an ear on the baby monitor. Happy Sunday.
