I suppose tomorrow evening is going to be a big night for me. The parents' banquet is tomorrow evening and I have been made to swear I will be there because of "something big, real big." We'll see. I know that it has something to do with the hours and materials I have donated during the year, but that's all my secret source will tell me.
We make the trip to the VA in the morning. Lovely. Da Man has two appointments, the second of which I scheduled two days ago after dancing with several receptionists and "I don't know who it is that you want"s. Something has to be done about Da Man's headaches. Period. I won't accept anything less. This shit of having to drive one and a half hours one way to the ER is crap, and it's time that someone besides an ER doc take a look at him.
He was told last weekend that the headaches are probably being brought on by muscle spasms in his neck constricting his blood vessels and causing his head to ache. Now to get someone to move on it....Wish him well tomorrow if it crosses your mind.
And wish that we get home in time to make it to the banquet tomorrow evening.
And now onto a completely different note:
I scored some donations of flowers from a local greenhouse for Grace's class today. Talk about scrambling! I secured the donations, after several calls and trips to the greenhouse in an attempt to speak with the owner who had promised the flowers to me months ago, with three hours left in the school day, and today was the last day of school before Mother's Day.
The kids loved the flowers! The boys were more into them than the girls, which kind of surprised me. But you should have seen the faces on them when they saw me walk in with a big box of flowers; it was priceless, and worth far more than any award.
I spent one hour less at Grace's school did today than the teachers. I sat in circle and sang songs, even lead a song. And then we made gift tags for the flowers. I ended up riding the bus, for the third time this week, to help Da Man hand the take home stuff out. The moms were real surprised when their kids climbed off the bus with a flower for them. Again, it was worth far more than any award. I had a very busy, but very fulfilling day. Days like these simply rock. I hope yours went as well.
