The Year in Review

I'm going through my old emails, brushing up my flood timeline. When I didn't keep track of exactly what day something happened, I can look at the emails I sent on a given day, and I probably told someone or other all about what was going on here.

My father-in-law has always been fascinated with the prairie dog colonies they have in the Denver suburbs where development has not displaced them. I sent him this video about rescuing them from the flood waters:

I had no idea they were so cute.

They really are cute: they live in colonies on dirt lots and stand up tall like meercats. When they are scared, one will whistle, and they'll all disappear. Farmers don't like them because the holes are hazardous to livestock, and of course they have to be either killed or relocated when the land is developed, but we have these rescue people.

I wonder how many they were able to rescue.

We don't have them at this altitude, but something similar.
