Wordle

Wordle is a toy for generating â€œword cloudsâ€ from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

I clicked on the "Print" button and printed it as a .pdf to my iPhoto application and somehow that converted it to a .jpg that I could upload to mybloggers. I was a little surprised at how complicated that was, would have liked to be able to do a right-click save-as.

Then you marvel at how the words are arranged - is the biggest word what you would have considered the most important? Manipulate the colors and various options available in pull-down menus, pause to appreciate how a different color scheme makes a difference in the feel of the design. Now go get a different type of text, such as song lyrics, and marvel all over again.

Once you follow the link above (Wordle), click on 'create' and paste some text into the box and click 'go' Java script is required to create the result (see knittineedles' post). Maybe you don't have Java Script?
