Wall Progress

We are in discussions about the yellow-looking stones there on the left. Yes, that's my finger in the picture.

They had to leave early, will be back on Saturday.

It sure will be good to get it done. I don't think the old steps would have made it through the winter, and the propane guy goes up there every month, so it was a safety issue. Now I can stop worrying about him.

I've done the finger thing myself. Annoying, ain't it. It's a beautiful wall. Maybe Jeri's right. Now that I recognize the stones you refer to, they might be intrusive over time.

It might not be so bad if some of the larger stones matched those yellow ones and the different ones were scattered throughout, but it's all the smaller ones. He says he realizes now it's not going to work, and he's going to get some more stones on Wednesday.

I love the gray. It matches the boulders. I would make them take those
stones out, they will probably annoy you forever if you don't.

This morning he agreed that those yellow stones have got to go - but while he was talking about replacing them, he was shoveling dirt into the tops of them, as if they were there to stay. All I can do now is hope he does the right thing. I wish YouKnow was here to give him the eye, that'd clinch it to have a man's opinion.

All the smaller filler stones are the wrong color. He said the brownish tint would wash off, but I took this picture after hosing it down. I think he now realizes it is not going to work.

I had trouble finding them too. They are the top-most stones of the wall itself that are slimmer than the others.
