Finally, the cabinets are going in at the new cabin. I forgot what they looked like, ordered them in September, they were delivered in October, sat in the boxes on the deck all winter.

This is a wine barrel half at the cabin next door. I planted the pinks last year and they came back.

This is the replacement for the window the bear broke out - shattered the wooden frame as well as all the glass. Poor Mr. Troutbend had to figure out how to install a modern window in a 114 year old house. I'm sorry to lose the traditional look, but this new window is easier to operate. We are talking about what to do about repelling the bear this fall because he/she could just as easily take out this new window.

These wildflowers were washed into our yard from high up on the mountain by the 2013 flood. I don't know what they are.

I like the shape of the wood around the window. Looks vintage.

I'll tell him, and he'll be very happy that someone noticed.

Nice to see that they are still in good shape after sitting all winter.

I was worried about it. Looks like they are probably okay. I think the builders hung some of them upside down - we ordered right-hand hinges on certain cabinets but they installed them as left hand. If the factory messed up and shipped the wrong hinge configuration, after all this time we can't return them. I had to send a strongly-worded email the general contractor because this project is taking far too long to be completed - they only come here for 6 or 7 hours every two weeks because they have another project somewhere else.

It is already looking so good with the new cabinets. Would love to see it. Flowers are gorgeous, I envy you because mine are about to burn up
in the heat with no rain.

There is a lot left to do, but it's nice to see it finally starting to look like something. It was 47 degrees here yesterday, but didn't rain - a nice relief from the heat wave earlier this week.

The wildflowers are lovely. Google how to keep bears away from your house. Some of the solutions are unacceptable, like cutting down your fruit trees and not having a bird feeder. But there may be other solutions I don't have time to read because it is 1 a.m. and Ed wants to know why I am not sleeping.

Believe me, we have done plenty of googling about how to keep bears away from our house and consulted local wildlife experts.
