Sure Enough Snow

It started snowing yesterday at 4 p.m. and this was taken this morning at 9:45.

I tried to get a good picture of the blue jays, but they are too shy, even if I'm inside the house.

Every so often the trees sheds its snow burden and I have a flurry falling past the windows. Fortunately, it's a relatively light snow that isn't clinging to the branches and the power lines. Down in town there are a lot of problems with falling tree branches because they still have a lot of leaves on them.

Here is a great fish picture from the local paper (not taken on a snowy day):

It's spawning season, and the brown trout get that bright coloration.

What great pictures of the trout. They look so colorful during spawning season. Is that your cabin in the photo or one you rent?

It's the rental next door, taken from the warmth of my living room.

I saw this on the news and knew what you would be getting. It is gorgeous,
but I hope it stays there.

It won't stay. I'm hoping we don't get a chinook wind that will take it away too quickly before it can melt into the soil and do some good. So far this fall, we haven't had much wind; even this storm was not blown in fast.

I thought they were black and white photos until I saw the Blue Jay. Beautiful pictures.

Thanks! Yes, that top one is very monochromatic.

We still have leaves turning. I am not ready for winter and snow. You can keep it there. Indian summer has not happened here yet, although we have had two frosts so it can happen any day.

I wanted the change in weather and some moisture, but cold weather is going to get boring quickly, I'm sure. It's supposed to be in the 60s for Halloween.

I'll watch the snow on TV thank you.
Having had fish most of my life I appreciatetheir spawning but there is nothing like watching the betas do their ballet to mate and then the male doing the diving for the eggs--spellbinding!

Definitely not Marty in flip-flops weather here today!

Love that snow scene. Wish I could walk into it. Fish are great looking.

It was deeper than it looked - maybe about a foot. The roads aren't too bad, but there was a slick spot on the way to the post office and a little scary. Now I'm all snuggled in with nowhere to go.

Those jays! I tried for 20 minutes to get a good picture, but they foiled me.

It will be only 14 degrees overnight, the coldest of the season - winter is finally here.
