Seriously. Where Does it Go?

As good as my intentions are to post something on a daily basis, invariably time gets away from me, and I find my last post was the day before yesterday. No idea where the time goes.

What was I doing yesterday? First off, the electricians fixed the loose connection the furnace, so that's out of the way. Then, they worked really hard to get done with the generator project. This involved turning off the electricity for hours at a time.

At the end of their work day the work was done but they didn't have time to test it. They didn't want to go off and leave it untested, so didn't even get to the point of firing up the generator. My father-in-law refers to this as a 'smoke test' and I can just imagine curls of smoke coming out of somewhere.

As they were getting into their truck I asked them if this loud humming noise in the front hallway is normal. They'd heard it, but thought it was the refrigerator and not a continual thing. It is from a large junction box installed in the attic. Fortunately, they agreed that the noise is unacceptable, and they will take that junction box off and install some materials behind it to isolate the vibration from it.

One of the times the lights were out and I couldn't use the computer I went to Ace Hardware and bought a Tin Mouse trap with a 30-mouse capacity. It didn't catch any in the kitchen last night, but one of the electricians told me that happens when you've had a trap in the same spot for awhile. I moved it to the garage for tonight and that will be a sure test because there are many, many mice in there.

I have also been working on year-end taxes because of this time flying business. I always have to figure out how much to donate to which charity in which year.

It does just simply fly by.

I am wondering if as we get older it takes longer to think things through and act on them, so it just takes longer to do the normal tasks of daily living, so all of a sudden the sun is going down, and not much special has happened around the house.

Time flies when you are having fun. We must be having a ball!

Beautiful fall shot. So, I'm assuming you are still in Colorado.

Yes, waiting for the generator project to drag itself to a conclusion, and some other things have come up, so I may be here several more weeks.

Time and tide wait for no man or woman.

Please send us some wet weather. Tonight I'm making trousers for my knitted hedgehog.

I don't try to post every day, just when the mood hits me ... a phrase will pop into my mind and then I have to write around it and get it out.

I always look forward to your posts and comments.

What surprises me is that from the day I retired I thought I would have plenty of time to get things done but I didn't realize that your normal 24 hours day gets cut back 4-5 hours a day!!! "They" don't tell you that!

Even if 'they' had told us, we wouldn't have believed it would happen to us.
