Then, only one was coming around and I was afraid the other one was eaten. Today I tossed some popcorn out there to see if she'd eat it, and she did.
I brought the cat down to see the bird, and she was indifferent: invisible turkey. In this picture she's not watching that turkey. It went next door and she moved to the front window, but had her eye on the rabbit over there rather than that turkey, which as joined by another turkey. So we were back to two.
When I took the trash bin up to the road I saw three turkeys. They saw me coming and hustled up the road toward the highway. By the time I got up there, they were nowhere in sight. I hope they didn't risk crossing the road.
A couple hours later, I looked out back and one of them was back, digging through a flower pot.
When she saw me, she marched across the snow.
We've never had wild turkeys spend so much time here before. The only downside is they poop everywhere and the whole property is a mine field.
