The nice family from around Danville, Illinois left early this morning. They come every year, and are such a treat to visit with. I think this was their fifth year.
They are gone every day of their visit, hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, so the house barely gets dirty. They'd planned on coming home for lunch and bought food for that, but never did because there was always something else they'd seen to do in town. This means they left food for us in the refrigerator. I call it Lunch with Les because that's the husband's name. He's a very successful Chevrolet salesman, and his email address starts out morecars4les@ I've always thought that was cute, but before I knew he sold cars, I thought maybe he was a collector.
They said the futon mattress over there smells like pee, and although now I have to take measures to get the smell out, it didn't surprise me because of all the kids and dogs that have stayed over there lately.
In Las Vegas news, besides the usual auto-pedestrian hit and run event, the Bellagio has the summer flower exhibit set up. For this summer display there are 9 types of flowers, 8 varieties of shrubs, Ivy, trees and live birds. Here’s break-down in numbers: 80,300 flowers, 50 finch and 12 rosey bourke birds, 1500 ivy plants and 28 trees were used. The change over from one display to the next can take from 5-7 days. It is a 24-hour process during the change over with 50-75 people working in shifts.
I would like to see it in person, but that'd take about 15 minutes, and then there I'd be: in the heat and squalor of Las Vegas.
