Once you're gone, let's hope the next generation does more than talk about how great it was to get together at your house, agree they should do it some time, but never get around to it.
Nice final word from Buster.
I considered replacing our flood-damaged red cabin with one of those tiny houses. The ones made near here are all-wood, and on wheels like a trailer. It was a charming idea for a rental cottage - just enough room for a murphy bed and a tiny kitchen, but I realized that, as you say, the charm would wear off, and for less money we could build something roomier.
It's wonderful that Adrienne is having a nice senior year, and as you say, that Bobby is here to see it.
I still remember one of your posts from many years ago where you went to the fair and met up with your mother there. I thought it was so nice for you to be near family.
Bless his heart.
My cousin, or as she pronounces it: 'me coooo-sin' says she has traced our line back to Richard III's sister, but needs some kind of documentation for it. Future genealogists are going to have a hard time tracking through today's non-traditional family structures.
I think women engineers tend to be more personable than men engineers.
I agree with what you said those countdown lists, especially when they count backwards - it might have been clever and catchy at some point when the first caveman introduced the idea, but now that all the newspapers and travel TV and etc. do it, it's tedious and time-wasting. Helping various PC users, I'm seeing that Download Windows 10 for Free popup, and thinking it's probably a scam. Even if I knew it came from Microsoft, I wouldn't download their updated Operating System until it'd been proven to work.
Funny you should bring this up, because my cousin over here has recently said something about tracing back to Richard III, and a female line. I don't usually pay much attention to those comments because I'm not here to find out which king I'm related to, but I will ask her about it. I'll let you know what she says. She has a fascinating thick Yorkshire accent full of colloquialisms, so it's always interesting to get her talking on something.
Thanks for the reminder - I'm going to tell my cousin here in England to be sure not to succumb to the Download Windows 10 for Free message, because even if it did come from Microsoft (I'm starting to doubt it does), it is probably fraught with problems, and I saw it on her computer yesterday. I'll warn Mr. YouKnow there in Las Vegas, but I think he's learned his lesson. Best of luck going forward - wishing you smooth days of happy computing. Please don't forget to send me your new email address in case I need to write you.
It has been so dry in Colorado, we are hoping to get some moisture in October/November. I plan to use Roundup on some thistle areas, and since the ground can be planted immediately after using it, will seed in some native grass and hope the winter is wet enough for it to germinate.
I can see a watershed stewardship website called CrazedSquirrelshumpingtrees.org and starting with a domain name like that would cause it to be so much better.
There's a lot to be said for the familiar faces and we all know each other's stories, so can talk in the shorthand of long-time friends.
Sounds good. I'll make an effort to see it some time. Thanks, Martin.
