You've stayed young because you've got so many interests and know how to have a good time no matter what else is going on.
Fingers crossed.
It sounds like one step away from rolling the cart out into the yard and washing the dishes with the garden hose.
What you chose from the buffet doesn't sound very Brazilian. The only thing I know about that style of restaurant is from those ones where they come around with roasted meat on big swords and saw off a portion for each customer. And then there's a buffet for the side dishes.
Is that how they talk to their wives? The women at their evangelical churches? Those conservatives - what a life they must lead.
Even though we try to shrug them off, irrational things like that niggle in the back of our minds because it seems so unfair. Let's hope she was somebody's cranky auntie and won't back.
Those pesky rats. Good luck getting rid of them.
Did you google "based off of vs based on"? One of the search results had a chart of that based off of usage over the years (based upon a scan of Google books). https://www.quickanddirtytips.com/education/grammar/based-off-versus-based-on Now I want to see the chart for other phrases. and Hah hah! at the part of the joke about the swearing.
Movies in general seem to be shorter and shorter, it seems like they have to neatly fit into uniform boxes based on running time. Remember back in the 1970s etc. when some of them ran for 3 hours? This didn't mean they were better for it. In fact, by today's standards many of them were self-indulgent and rambling. I'm thinking of that Steve McQueen movie, The Sand Pebbles, for example. Longer did not mean better.
The Las Vegas libraries have those mechanized book sorters, but the security guards won't let us stand and watch it working, no idea what the security risk is.
I can't tell Tina Fey from Sarah Palin and that works for me because when I'm watching Tina Fey do Sarah Palin I know it's parody, so not quite as frightening. Watching Sarah Palin directly scares the bejeezus out of me to think some people in our country take her seriously.
So true. Jeri is my mate in the sense you describe, and hard as I try to develop a succession plan for the one day in what I hope is far away, for when she is no longer with us, there is nobody in this world I can trust with my confidences, trials, and tribulations. This is not a trivial problem.
The thought of spring brings forsythia with its bright yellow flowers to mind. Do they have that there? There was always a lot of it around the south side of Denver when I lived there, but it seems like years since I've seen it.
I laughed about the go-between business. The thought of rats makes me nervous, my house or yours: they are so large.
It's a really good idea to get out there early and get a start that you can maintain so it doesn't build up too deep to handle. I'm watching that storm from here, it brings back memories of a big storm in that same area in 1995 or 1996 (I think it was January 1996). I was there on business, and at one point my Ford Focus rental car was the only non-snowplow on all six lanes of the Interstate near Baltimore. I would have taken a picture, but was too busy driving with my head out the window - the wipers couldn't keep up with the fast snow fall. I'll be thinking about you!
