A Lovely Day

It was a lovely fall day here in the Colorado Rockies.

The EPA contractor was back yesterday and they removed the transformer from the utility pole. Someone will come to get them later, I hope.

They didn't do much to improve the road, actually messed up what we had somewhat. I don't care, though, because I only walk on it, no driving yet.

I finished painting my laundry room today, something I've been working up to for some time. It's always easier and faster than I thought it'd be. I could keep going and do the kitchen ceiling. It's more work because I have to wash it really well first. I'm hoping if I do it, the cabinets won't look too shabby, because it'd be a huge job to paint them, too.

My kitchen ceiling also needs to be painted but washed first. What to use to wash the ceiling? It is really mybloggers.

Oven cleaner works really well, and I've never had it remove the paint, just gets off the grease. Yes, it smells bad. One time we had to wash the walls in a rental cabin where people had smoked for about 10 years, and oven cleaner was the only thing that would cut through that horrible nicotine coating. Ever since then, I keep it around even though I have a self-cleaning oven.

Get a paint and primer in one and you won't have to wash the ceiling. It
is a miracle.

I just now went in there and squinted up at it. Yes, it probably needs painting, No, it doesn't look urgent. It's just about the same color, so not a matter of redecorating. Now you, you'd be removing my light box and coming up with something that would really jazz the place up.

Glad you had a lovely day--amazing how removing a transformer can lighten up the day--by the way--and I don't know if one thing has to do with another but one of our transformers went BANG in the middle of the night!!

Oh, that would have been the frosting on the cake; it was terrifying enough without that.

You have energy and a half. Washing a ceiling sounds like hard labor. I couldn't do it. Go, girl.

Last year when I washed it is when I decided it needed painting because up there close I could see the need. I'll have to get up there again to get motivated. One good thing: once it's done, it's one less thing to think about.
