We don't have a water basin and would attract more small birds if we did. I am avoiding the filling and clean-up. We get the big birds though and they are fun.

That is an amazing video and I remember how they acted when we were there. They are just a blur of color.

When there's so many of them, the noise can be deafening.

wow!we have never seen this many. Then again do not have a feeder.Just the flowers that we have draws them.Neat.

They also fly above the river and catch bugs. It takes a flower 20 - 30 minutes to produce more nectar, and the hummingbirds check them regularly, but the feeders are a supplement.

Fantastic video!! We were upset to discover a dead hummingbird yesterday that apparently had flown into our window. It happens often but usually they don't kill themselves. I purposely have not cleaned the dang window...

We keep our wooden slat blinds down with the slats adjusted to we can see out between them, but it darkens the windows from the outside. It has cut down on bird hits, but every so often we find a dead one. If we hear one hit, we run out and turn him right side up, and most of the time they recover. The way the males race around chasing one another, it's surprising they don't run into more things like trees and people.

I love birds!!
Rivergirl at the other site finally let the baby robin go---I was getting nervous!

I would worry that I wasn't feeding a captive wild bird the right foods, but if it lived this long, she must have been doing the right thing.
