Every day presents new challenges, and I start out thinking 'No way. No. I am not going to slither down the riverbank and retrieve that cut off electrical wire from the river. No.' and then I do it.
Today it was 'Why did that stinking Mr. Troutbend have to burn all the nice firewood this summer? No way. No. I'm not going to climb up on the woodpile looking for the right-sized wood to burn. Yes, I'm freezing, but no.' But then I did it.
It's snowing tonight, so tomorrow I'm going to clean my laundry room and paint it. It's not easy to move the appliances around, but I'll manage somehow. Then, it's supposed to warm up for the weekend.
Monday the road people are going to come along and pick up the flood debris that is up along the highway, so this weekend I have to move as much of this stuff as I can up there. Refrigerators especially are difficult to get the landfill to accept.

Tonight I've been lining up some volunteers to help, and it'll be done in no time at all. What a bonus to have that out of the way.
The next challenge is the propane supply. The delivery truck can't get down my road, and my road won't be fixed until spring, so the propane I have now must last. Usually, it is delivered every month to top off the tank, and I asked the delivery guy if there is enough. He said no, but I can try getting the generator tank hooked into the house system, giving me 350 more gallons. Meanwhile, I've got the thermostats set to 50 degrees and am coping with being cold all the time. It's not too bad, and I'll get through it.
It's always something: solve one problem, and up comes a new challenge, but things do have a way of working out.
