Guests from Canada

Early every morning, these four Canadian geese come down the river making a big noisy fuss.

They stand on the rocks and look around, and then take wing for a few yards and float down the river until tomorrow.

All the to-do seems to be that one of each pair wants to stop and look at things, and the other of each pair wants to move along. It's like a dysfunctional double date.

We think Skylar is gorgeous! The contentious double date is funny!

As usual you make me laugh with your observations.

That's good to hear. We are marveling at our strange weather this spring - cool and windy today.

The pigeons were probably not country birds. They wanted the movie and the popcorn. Great looking geese. Make me think of Quackers.

I keep wondering what Quackers would make of these wild geese.

It reminds me of the days before cell phones when we'd go to Las Vegas with a group - trying to get through a casino, someone would stop to play a machine, and then when they were ready to go, someone else had started playing and everyone had to wait for them. Without a cell phone, we had to keep track of everyone, particularly once group members started breaking out of the casino headed for the final destination. The keeping track was done by means of runners who went between the players checking on status and reporting on changes in location. Jeez, just thinking about it is making me irritable.

We have fly-overs here, but at one of the campgrounds they make a hell of a splash first thing in the morning when they touch down. Nice that you can get such good pics of them!

Must be global warming* because we've never had them this far up the canyon. A couple of years ago we had some city pigeons, but they didn't come back the next summer.

*We're blaming as much as we can on global warming. Maybe it doesn't deserve ALL the blame, but some of it.

You've described me & my wife while out hiking... I always want to stop and inspect things, she wants to keep moving.

She probably doesn't nag at you in a big loud voice and get other couples involved.

I don't know--the way those 2 in the second picture are looking at each other--
comment by greatmartin on May 29, 2013 6:27 PM ()
It's all about the hanky-panky with these couples.

I love the commentary.

Your reply is above - the long one about Las Vegas. Hugs to the baby.
