A deranged married couple went on a shooting rampage in Las Vegas the other day. First, they walked into one of those pizza buffet places where two policemen were sitting down eating lunch and executed them. They placed one of those Live Free and Die flags and some Nazi memento on the bodies.

They then went to a Walmart. They fired a shot inside the building, and a customer who had a concealed carry permit approached the man with his gun pulled. He didn't realize the other killer was a woman, so she came around behind him and shot him.

By this time, many cops had scrambled, and the killers ended up on the floor in the automotive section. Initially it was thought the wife killed the husband and then herself, but police have decided he was killed with a shot from a police rifle and she shot herself in the head.

This is only one of many recent situations like this, where people minding their own business become the victims of these nut jobs armed with guns. The Las Vegas TV station did a piece on what we should do if confronted by this sort of thing.

1. if you're far enough away to not become involved, leave the area.
2. if you can't flee, try to find a room and lock yourself in, barricading the door so the gunman can't come after you.
3. if you have no choice, arm yourself and use surprise. Find a fire extinguisher, a chair, or scissors for a weapon. Go after the gunman aggressively and take his gun away. Do not be afraid to hurt or kill him.
4. carry a go bag: tourniquets and bandages.

Well, this is just great, isn't it? Life in the armed camp of America. It puts us all in the position of having to carry loaded weapons out in public just to defend ourselves. And avoid Walmart.
