Spring is in the air, and our hummingbirds are on the way. Last year they got here the first week of April, several weeks early, so we don't know what to expect, but everyone's ready - got a feeder washed and sugar measured to make a quick batch of juice for them.
Once in awhile I get the feeling that things are okay. I got the car out of the garage (it was trapped by a snowbank that slid off the roof, trimmed the branches downed by our heavy spring storms, planted some spinach seeds outdoors. I've located all the things I misplaced and all the bills are paid, and nothing to remember to do - that I know of. Of course, I don't know what I don't know, but right this minute I'm not going to worry about it.
For recreation today, I unraveled a knitted hat that I made too large, and am thinking about starting it up again, but maybe not just now. It's a nice pattern of yarn that will make its own stripes.
Here is the first hummingbird of 2014, you can see the flood damage in the background.
