Fashion Can Be Unhealthy

I have nothing to say about this, just passing it on:

"GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- A 49-year-old Grand Junction man who said he shot a woman in the head when he mistook her large red Mohawk for a fowl that had been harassing his cats has been sentenced to five years probation.

Derrill Rockwell told police he fired one shot at what he thought was a bird sitting on a hill near his home Oct. 5, and soon after, he heard a woman moaning in pain.

Prosecutors say the "bird" turned out to be a 23-year-old woman who may have been sleeping on the hill. Her injury was not life threatening.

The Daily Sentinel reports Rockwell was sentenced Friday for felony possession of a weapon by a prior offender. Prosecutors say the woman, who is believed to be a transient, has left Colorado and could not be reached to testify. "

Two things keep me from firing my guns: 1. recoil 2. have to clean them afterward

I'm always scared to go jogging during deer hunting season, orange hat or not.

Saw a woman walking a while back and thought she was carrying her pet cat on her head --turns out it was a hat. In my late teens, early twenties I sometimes wore a hat to special events -- cute little things, nothing elaborate. Except for royal weddings, hats seem to have been out of style. Lucky for women in rural areas, say I. As for guns, there are many states that now have "open carry" gun laws in effect. I'm agin' it.

The thing about a 'large red Mohawk' hairdo is it's not a hat.

Somehow, I thought that this would be about stilleto heels. Thank God, I
refuse to wear them.

If a person is homeless, where to they get the time and resources to keep their mohawk sticking out?

I was wondering if he knew exactly what he was doing - shooting at trespassers on his land - and then came up with this story as a defense.

Yes, indeed. I don't know what the Brits mean by 'silly season' and I'm not sure when it is, but feels like we're in it most of the time.

I read a piece about a guy waiting in line at a Starbucks with a gun in a holster on his hip. What kind of world is this? Armed latte drinkers. The barrista better not give him skimmed if he asked for whole in his half-caf.

Dean, two houses down from us, is a homicide detective, and I get excited whenever I see him come home with his gun in view. I tell Mr. YouKnow: "honey, Dean's been out catching bad guys again." And I don't shake my fist at him when his basset hound is baying in their back yard, either.

This summer I'm going to learn how to use my gun. Right now, I can't even change the bullets without dropping parts on the floor, so don't come by the house until I tell you the coast is clear.
