My zucchini plant has responded to this by stopping production; the leaves are turning yellow, and some of my potato plants are turning yellow as if harvest time is near. The tomatoes, on the other hand, are having a great old time blooming and there are some nice medium-sized green tomatoes. Today I discovered a ripe cherry tomato tucked up in the leaves. I waved it at the green ones so they could see what they are shooting for, not that they care.
I can see the leaves on the aspen are fading, getting ready to turn to gold.
The wild cherries along the river bank are ripe and plentiful. They are a smaller cherry, so the seed seems to dominate, but they have a flavor between sweet and sour.
