I think this is a rainbow trout.

This is the fox at the end of July

And here he is two weeks later.

He has lost his winter coat from last year and the new coat is growing in. His tail is getting bushier, and there are long, fine hairs like a halo around his shoulders.

Will the fox be white this winter?

It will be kind of white and gray - look at the top photo with the winter coat on his back - but not all white like an arctic fox. I wonder how much of the winter coat grows on his legs. When I first saw him the legs had short red hair and he had quite a bit of his winter coat.

Love your animal photos. Fox does look like he needs fattening.

I'm going to worry about him over the winter, but he made it through last winter, so that's a good sign.

If you've got some green space around it, you might see foxes because they are good at adapting to an urban environment. Same for raccoons, but they are more of a pest than something I'd look forward to seeing.

The Fox need some food to fatten him up some.He has great posture.

He's so slender and wiry. Sometimes he looks very young, others very adult.

I love the Deer! Quite beautiful

This is one of last year's twin fawns. They are really pretty this year for some reason, with that reddish brown color, and very fat and sleek. Come spring they will be a dull brown and their ribs will be showing.

The fox could make a nice meal of that trout

A couple of years ago we found a couple of dead trout in the yard, killed overnight. Finally figured out it was the mink who was catching them and leaving the carcass for later.
