I am really curious about the play. I am not familiar with it. I am wondering what pieces from Christie's many will be included.

I am kind of torn about whether I want to see this one. I actually am intrigued by the Roosevelts and their relationship. I know that they were not necessarily in love, but everything I have red indicates that they did truly care for each other. I am also not particularly interested in sexual controversy with regard to politicians. We are the only country in the world who thinks it affects leadership ... and it is actually only a recent worry in America. I don't think it is really any of our business since it seems like most of our "greatest" presidents cheated on spouses and slept around.

I have to say the saddest thing is that I was unfamiliar with this woman's name even when actively trying to read histories of the GLBTQQ community. The organization she was at the core of is such an important one that I don't understand why she is not better represented in the books I have read.

Cars definitely come with costs ... even when they are running well. Gas, oil changes, repairs, etc. It is a bit disheartening, but for a lot of people it is a need rather than a convenience.

You are so right about the checks at restaurants....

I so can't wait to see Les Miz. It is one of my favorite plays/soundtracks. I love the story both as a play and a book. I think one of the things that hurts Russell Crowe (without having seen it) is that Javert has one of the big solos ... and that solo really speaks to the core of Javert's fatal flaw. Crowe was never going to be able to belt it out as it needs to be, but I have a feeling that he has no trouble with capturing the emotions involved with his acting.
That stinks about your eye test. If you had cataract surgery, would that help?

The pics of the cat are adorable!
It sounds like you had a really busy time, but you hit a lot of your targets ... and mostly had a lot of fun so it sounds like a great break.
You always seem like you are having a great time when you are haning with your friends.

I am a huge fan of this movie. I did a night-time program for adults with it at my library this past October. We had a good turn out. Some peope came with costumes and we had all the props. It was loads of fun.

It is not so much about whether or not we knew, but I know that I wasn't accepting of it until I was in my college years. Denial is not uncommon among us who don't come out.

Great piece! One of the things that is important for us to remember is that it took us a while to come to terms with who we are. That same evolution has to happen for our loved ones. It is not necessarily immediate even when they are loving and accepting.

The funny thing is that even though Gotham was held hostage by terrorists, I liked the fact that it was not quite so dark. I loved Ann Hathaway as Catwoman! She was awesome!

Elderjane is right. We do all seem to be big animal people whether it is Martin's birds, Jon's cats, or so many of us with pups.

I do have to admit that I am finding so much of the marketing from the ASPCA to be more and more distrubing. Either that or I am becoming more sensitive. I have to fast forward through the commercials or skip through so many of the FB postings because of their clear imagery of abuse. I know that it is meant to rally people to the cause, but it usually just makes me teary-eyed.

That is really a nice twist on your lunch. It is a shame that happened, but at least you got lunch for free to compensate.

I am glad to hear things worked out with your schedule. I remember how difficult it can be. When I was in college, we had to wait until a certain date and time to call into the system with a touch tone phone and request our classes. It was considered high tech back then!

Best of luch with the new semester!

I am surprised Martin didn't freak out about you not taking the time to relax. LOL! He is always after me over that one. While you have scheduled things for your vacation, most of them sound like a lot of fun. Enjoy!
