Cleaning Up

Everyone at work has really been teasing me about my desk. Since I have started packing things up, I have been doing a great job of clearing off the desk. It is actually already almost empty, which is pretty amazing. There are just a few things that I will be leaving for the person who will be taking over my position.

The funny thing is that I am not usually considered a messy person. In fact, I am one of those people who really things that everything has its place and does everything I can to make sure things are in their right places. Heck! I evern sort out the things in our fridge and in the pantry!

My desk really does tend to get messed up because I don't usually get to spend time at it. It is in a common area, and I tend to just drop things on top of it in organized piles. I can find everything quickly, but it doesn't look great. One thing that doesn't help is that whoever in Reference tends to drop their stuff on my desk while they are there. That usually means, I end up finding little remnants left behind. It is quite funny.

In a way, the status of my desk is really indicative of a lot of what I have been doing over the last few days. Besides doing my summer reading programs, I have been working on trying to tie everything up.
*I am trying to organize things so my replacement has easy access to files and information
*I am really trying to get everything packed up to leave with me
*I have been working on trying to adjust my contact information so people will be able to reach me at the new location

I really have no doubt that when I leave work for my last day next Thursday, I will have everything tied up, which is a good thing. The more I get things tied up, the more excited I am starting to feel about the new place.

That is a good thing, because I will be there in 11 days.

It really is exciting. In a way, that is surprising since I am not big on change, but I really am looking forward to things.
