In the next few weeks I will be joining my cousins on my dad's side in southern Colorado for their family reunion. One of the scheduled activities is a half day of whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River in Brown's Canyon. It's considered an intermediate level trip meaning medium-sized whitewater with moderate maneuvers, no experience necessary, some fitness and swimming ability recommended.

Mountain Buzz is a blog site for whitewater enthusiasts, rafters as well as kayakers. I started monitoring it in order to get news about my particular river, and enjoy reading about all the adventures and gentle ribbing of the participants. Through that site I'm able to meet and correspond with the boaters who come through our property, and now they always give a yell when they go by so we can run out on the bridge and wave to them.
