Weather in Colorado

Typical Colorado weather: hot, hot through the weekend including Monday, then a high of 45 degrees, low of 26 on Tuesday with rain and snow in the forecast.

Shorts and flip flops ======> Coats and shoes.

Tonight's smoke map. The forecast is for us to see more smoke in our area this weekend.

Nineties, then a 50-degree drop. It's as if aliens are up there playing with our planetary temperature dials. This summer is definitely weirder than last summer, we've never had a drought here that I recall.

The wild fire smoke is especially bad this weekend because the jet stream has changed in order to bring us the 5 - 10 inches of snow starting at 9 pm Monday night. Expected high Tuesday is now 25 degrees, expected low: 17 degrees.

Because of the smoke, the color of our air is golden, it smells like a fireplace out there, and we're watering everything today and then have to remove all the hoses and drain the water pump - definitely a surreal atmosphere. Saying goodbye to the garden plants, because even though I will try to protect them with bedsheets, there's a good chance they won't make it. What a shame, our sweet peas have been so nice. Today there are two hummingbirds, all of the rest left about 2 weeks earlier than usual.

I love autumn but we seem to be skipping it this year. the failure to address climate change is ridiculous.

Someone said we'll have fall for 20 minutes on Monday night.

I keep hearing geese overhead and my heart sings a little. Cooler temps ahead!

I know what you mean about that sound. I miss living under a goose flyway.

We are just HOT---very little rain--our low is usually 80 or 81 and our 'feels like' temps are over 100 during the day which is very rare for us---90s yes but 100s no!
My sister-in-law and my niece and her family live near the fire zones!
