This owlet is responding to a call from its mother, hopping from branch to branch, getting ready to fly.

Young elk sparring. Wish they'd come visit me.

Wolf hybrid. I think their hair color matches nicely.

Last week I was talking to a woman who trains guide dogs about the dog/wolf hybrids. She knows someone who has one. She said that they are very unreliable and can revert to wildness on a moments notice, with no warning. Not a good pet to have.

Of course out here in the west we have a lot of people who get all mystical about owning a wolf hybrid, and as you say, they are not good pets. It's the same thing with pit bulls - their nature could come out at any time - but their owners don't like to admit it.
