Here's an intriguing website Design Seeds "for all who love color."

They use a photograph as a suggestion, and show us some colors from it.

I think it's good training for the artist's eye in all of us. Take a look at this next one where at first all you see is a yellow rose, but the color swatches make us go back and look in the negative spaces.

colors. Artists see differently. Bobby bought a picture of a purple
hippo at an art gallery. Now that is different!

I am always amazed at how creative artists are, and am sorry I don't have it in me. Don't have it, probably never will. But at least I feel the loss.

No doubt the great painters had that visual ability to see a painting and its various hues that we mere mortals cannot see.

That's for sure, we have to train our eye, and I don't know if I could do it on my own. I glance at these photos, and then look at the color chips, and think I didn't see THAT color, and then look again, and there it is.

Mixing colors is becoming increasingly difficult for me. Sometimes I mix and mix and have so many miscues that tubs of paint are left over. My studio lighting is awful. That is part of the reason.

I envy your ability to paint at all. The famous guys like Van Gogh - I figure he saw color differently from us. That could be your story, and you're stickin' to it.
