Ever Lose Something on an Airplane?

OREGON CITY, Ore. - Police say a Nevada man who lost his iPad on an airplane used an app called Find My iPad to locate it inside the Oregon home of a flight attendant.

Officers in Oregon City, Ore., outside Portland, arrested 43-year-old Wendy Ronelle Dye Friday evening.

The flight attendant for Horizon Air told officers that a passenger brought her the tablet saying it was found on a seat. She said she never used the iPad and planned to turn it over to airline officials, but police found some of her personal information on it including her husband's birthday.

Arrangements are being made to return the tablet to its owner in Reno.

Maybe the best app they've got.

Tsk, tsk... bad girl, Wendy. Finders keepers is a kid's game, not a legal defense.

There was another story where an iPad stolen from luggage was tracked to the home of a TSA employee in Miami. His defense was that his wife took it - somehow she got into his workplace and helped herself. First, he said he'd turned it in to lost and found, but then the finder application made it start beeping and he had to change his story.

The latest crime in Las Vegas is snatching iPads and iPhones out of peoples' hands while they are engrossed with using them.

Good thing it didn't fall out the plane window... It probably would have broke when it hit the ground.

But it's fun to think of that iPad free falling through space, 31,000 feet to the ground. Would it sail a bit, or would it tumble end over end? And I'd like to be out my yard and have it just plop down on that down pillow in front of me.

Windows don't open on planes....

Never mind....

I found a wallet on a plane seat once, turned it in before we left the gate. Now I wonder if it got to the owner.
