Gary Busey Bankruptcy

This explains a lot about why we've seen too much of Gary Busey on reality shows lately. Not too long ago he was on "Celebrity Wife Swap." I don't know if that show is still being aired; it wasn't worth watching.

From the AP:
"Court records show actor Gary Busey has filed for bankruptcy and is listing more than $500,000 in estimated personal debts.

Busey's filing on Tuesday in Los Angeles provides few details but includes more than a dozen potential creditors.

The actor and reality show star does not state a reason for the filing. His manager Ron Sampson wrote in a statement the filing provides Busey "a new and clear path" to personal and career success.

The filing states the 67-year-old has less than $50,000 in assets.

Busey has starred in numerous films including "Point Break" and "Lethal Weapon" but has in recent years appeared more on reality shows such as "Celebrity Apprentice."

Wayne Newton is another who had the world on a string. I remember going on a bus tour to Hoover Dam and the driver took us by his house. A long time ago. I think he was still performing then. I also remember when he started out, singing Danke Schoen as a child.

Last year Wayne got permission to make his home a tourist attraction with tours and a petting zoo even after the neighbors objected vigorously. If you drive by, you can see the tail of the airplane sticking above the fence. I don't know how they got it there.

Bankruptcies are frequent these days. It hardly deserves a line in a newspaper any more. Didn't he injure his head in a motorcycle accident at the height of his movie career?

Yes, he was going around bragging about how he never wore a helmet, outspoken against state helmet laws, and then he just about died in that motorcycle accident and never got over the brain damage.

I guess a lot got lost in drugs--sad.

He also had that bad head injury from a motorcycle accident - no helmet. I think that keeps getting brought up to take focus off the drugs.

They don't seem to put it away when they have it.

He is really strange - makes up stupid motivational acronyms for any situation - very tedious to watch.

Yes,a lot of these stars have been having problems.Mostly the older one that has been around and not too wise of their money investment.

Wayne Newton here in Las Vegas is another one of them. He bought a huge private airplane but couldn't afford to operate it. At one time he had full-time pilots in his employ, had to let them go, and they got a court judgment against him for $300,000 in back wages. Now, he is opening up his home here in Las Vegas to tours in an attempt to make money. He tried making a comeback, but he can't sing worth a darn now.
