50th High School Reunion

It was nice to see my classmates from our small town, 50 years after we graduated from high school. Some of them were easy to recognize, others not so much. It was nice to see how some of the shrinking violets blossomed into self-confident ladies and gentlemen. Most everyone did not look as old as we are, but that's through my eyes. There was one guy on oxygen, and he probably won't make it to the 60th reunion, but the rest of us - we won't have changed a bit. Hah!

I was surprised that I went - it would be easy to worry that I didn't age as gracefully as might be desired. But I decided it doesn't matter what people think about my appearance, and I didn't even fuss with what to wear, just went, and I feel good about myself for going.

It's funny how some people you can recognize from their toddler pictures, while others undergo a kind of animal metamorphosis as they age.

Most everyone recognized me by my family - they weren't sure which one I am, but knew which extended family. There have been times in my life when I wished I was so much better looking than anyone remembered, they wouldn't recognize me, but I've accepted that will never happen.

68 sounds such a young age to me now.
