Hello all. I am just dropping in for a quick note. I am shutting down all of my jobsites at noon today because of Ike. We are boarding up the southside windows on the house and moving all of the patio furniture in the garage.

If you are so inclined, say a prayer for Amy(peanutsmom), M and J. They live about 25 miles from the projected landfall and had to evacuate this morning. They took the two puppies this morning and J's mom will bring the two big dogs this afternoon.

Houston is moving. All of the outlying communities are evacuating. Where I live on the far northside of Houston is expecting 100+ mile an hour winds tomorrow night and early Saturday. We have plenty of food, ice and water. We have a generator to run the blender. We have plenty of rum and Hawaiian punch mix. So, we are going to have a hurricane party. The house sits up very high and did not flood during Allison so we should be fine.

I grew up on the Gulf Coast and lived through Andrew and many other storms. This is just one more. There is still a lot of hysteria about hurricanes because of Katrina, but we will be fine.
