You have been very busy but you seem to thrive on it. Enjoy the season, love to the family. (P.S. Doesn't it infuriate you that the Orange Porker keeps demonizing Mexicans?)

Steve lives against his own best interests. It's a mental illness. You have addressed its symptoms but only Steve can reach that point n his life, when he allows anyone to help him. It may not happen. He may kill himself with his brand of survival. As for our abandonment of the poor and homeless, the solution is to elect those who would turn the tide. Currently, the Republicans aren't it. Voters with a conscience have to realize that Republicans as a group are toxic to the poor. If they care, they will vote for someone else.

My dear friend, former New York neighbor, was in her 80s when she died of the big C. When she was widowed, she came to visit here. We had a lovely time. I truly loved her. She was being wooed by a childhood friend, whose wife had died, and was as giddy as a teen-ager. Later they both came to visit and would go to bed "early" they said, so as to be "fresh" for the next day. But we knew why they were retiring early and thought it was wonderful. When she got sick, she was devastated that just as she had found a new life, she was being robbed. I will always remember her and miss her very much.

I was my late first husband's third wife. And his best. I am Ed's third wife. His first, out of college, left him when he got sick. His second was an alcoholic. His third was perfect, but died. We met in a bereavement group. I am his 4th wife. I'm here to stay.

You're all set it seems. I hope you have a lovely time with family, with or without children. So you said "husbands". Sounds like a story.

Life surrounded my nature and even pesky deer seems wildly perfect to me. We have large birds, pelicans, egrets, and large mammals, dolphins and manatee swimming by in our "backyard". We're thankful for that and how did we get here anyway? Perfect.

Glad you enjoyed it. Seems like a 2nd Christmas, sort of. What is sophisticated about a twirling top? Maybe Jose has some feline ancestors. My cats always sulk when we are gone too long. Branson seems to be a special tourist destination. What makes it so special?

I didn't mean to overlook your loss ... I started out on the path of thinking of my own losses. It is distressing indeed to let go of a lost romance that was so intense. How come you were out of touch in recent years?

My relatives and friends remaining are somewhat younger than I am. One is older. She was the sister of my first serious boyfriend, who died. She is 92 now. I spoke with her a day ago. Her family knows me as the missing member who never got to marry into the family. They seem fond of me on Facebook. I wish I could meet them. I miss my friends very much indeed and have their photos on my piano. There was a scene in a Shirley Temple movie, The Bluebird of Happiness, where, if Shirley thought of them, her grandparents would "wake up" from their sleep in Heaven. I like to think my friends are waking up as I think of them.

Had mice in NY. We got them with traps. Jay kept score on a paper posted on a support beam. Guy who came to read the meter, kept staring at it ... Stantons 9, mice zero.

We constantly get phone calls from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, telling us our program has been breached and we are at grave risk, and to please call the no. they give us. I just hang up on them and don't do anything and nothing happens to my computer. We also get calls from techies from India, that we once used, and they messed us up big time when we wouldn't go for their exorbitant fee. Why they think we would ever work with them again is beyond me. I usually tell them to f off. And they keep calling.

Thanks for reminding me about dating the blog in the title. I want to do this to make it easier to find an old post because the date will help me pinpoint the one I want.

I made pots and a small bust in camp when I was a kid. The results were truly awful. I envy your skill.

My favorite pastime is to be invited some place, or to eat at a nice restaurant, but Ed, even if we spend Thanksgiving with friends at their place, still wants a turkey dinner at home the day after.
