Last Sunday my two daughters and grand-daughter from Texas arrived for a week's visit to see me here in deep south Mississippi. It's been a long long time since we saw each other.
I thought my 20 y/o granny baby would be bored out of her mind because there's nothing to do here, but to my surprise she loves it here in the boonies. Anything country and small town--she loves it.
But things started off a little gnarly because daughter Raquel brought along her little poodle, and I don't like dogs, but she brought Cisco anyway because they are inseparable.
Daughter Camille had booked rooms at the Holiday Inn Express 25 miles away, (the nearest hotel) so they had a suite with lots of room and for a small fee Cisco was welcome too. My rustic cabin was just toooo small for us all. (I'll say this right away about the Holiday Inn Express--you couldn't have asked for nicer accomodations and employees--they were superior.)
So like the first day, Cisco jumped out of Camille's SUV and broke his leg. It was late in the day, but they found again, a superior vet and pet clinic that placed pins and a cast on poor widdle Cisco's leg and kept him for a couple of nights.
Okay, couple of days later. G'daughter Holly went with me to Hattiesburg so I could hand in some legal papers at an office. I had ONE wrong document, and had to drive all the way back home (70 mile round trip) to get the correct paper and bring it back. Second trip to Hattiesburg was a nightmare. At the busiest section of heavily traveled Highway 98/Hardy Street, on both sides of the throughway, cops were redirecting traffic. Bumper to bumper jam in all directions. Stuck like sardines. It was about 98 degrees, frazzling hot.
(I'm gonna write part two, coming up, this is getting too long) Go forward, love
